Covid wont stop 2022 Daffodil Day events22 Aug, 2022
Daffodil Day is the Cancer Society’s biggest fundraiser, where communities come together to raise much needed funds to support people impacted by cancer. The need to raise awareness and support Daffodil Day is higher than ever after Covid-19 restrictions prevented last years street collection going ahead. This year the national street appeal will be held on Friday August 26. Cancer doesn’t stop, and with your help we won’t either. During the month of August local businesses and individuals are asked to support Daffodil Month. If you would like to hold an event, please contact Natasha Judd on 0800 366 066. Daffodil Day Street collection this year will be held on August 26 under the care of our new volunteer team leader Jeanne Jury. Volunteers are still required so please contact us on 0800 366 066 if you can offer support. If you would like to hold an event please contact Natasha Judd on 0800 366 066, or join in the wonderful events being put on by the amazing team of volunteers. Cancer Society nurse Maggie Prentice is available to guide patients and their loved ones to the services that are available to them, and to advocate on behalf of cancer patients. Nurses can also discuss the treatment options, side-effects, and explain in a language everyone can understand. The Cancer Society Domain Lodge is the subsidised accommodation for Northland cancer patients receiving treatment in Auckland, ensuring they have easy access to treatment. A driving service also means that patients can get to and from their appointments, helping to take the pressure off whanau and friends.
