Art & SoulMangawhai art on council walls The concept is to exhibit a variety of art works in different media profiling local artists, in time slots of three months, curated as an overall year round exhibition. The goal is to promote community enjoyment, awareness and potential involvement in the arts in Mangawhai as the public enters the building. At the same time it will promote and support local artists and the MAI, and create a little magic on council walls to be enjoyed by staff and visitors. There will be no sales in the building but details of the artists and MAI will be displayed for interested parties to make contact. Mangawhai Artists Inc member Rosina Kamphuis spotted the potential of the blank council office walls, seeing them as an opportunity to celebrate creativity and wellbeing through art. She and Nicola Everett will curate the exhibition and approach local artists for their work.
