Emerging singers to perform

thumbnail Amitai Pati credit-garth-badger copy-356The Auckland Opera Studio is a charitable organisation that raises money to help talented young singers make the next step in their careers, usually by going overseas to a prestigious school of music such as Julliard in New York City or the London School of Music.

The fourth annual Opera Picnic concert will be held later this month in a private garden in Matakana and will be headed by the well-known tenor voice of former New Zealand Aria winner Amitai Pati (Sol3 Mio).

Accompanying Amitai are three talented friends Amelia Berry, one of Australasia’s leading sopranos; Joel Amosa, Bass-Baritone and winner of last year’s Lexus Competition; and Ipu Laga’aia, New Zealand’s young tenor superstar on the rise.

Attendees are invited to bring their own picnic and beverages and enjoy an evening of quality music and entertainment in a relaxing atmosphere.

The picnic has for the past three years been well attended, wildly successful and a very much enjoyed occasion. This year promises to be even better.

¢ Opera Picnic 2020, February 22 at 5.30pm with adjacent free parking from 4.30pm. Venue is in a private garden on the corner of Ward and Matakana Valley Rd. Tickets $50 at aucklandoperastudio.co.nz. Under 16s free.
