Coaching drives membership for newcomers

By popular demand (and a little arm twisting) Mangawhai womens golf re-started a Thursday muster of 9 holes in April for newcomers and seasoned members.

After kicking off last year, the third set of coaching with Terry Young has just been completed and many of the almost 50 women who have enjoyed the lessons have joined Mangawhai Golf Club and some the Thursday mus-ter while still playing with the Tuesday 9-holers and so doing the full 18 holes.

Some have gained their handicap.

All are enthusiastic.

Women members are mentoring or buddying the newcomers on Thursdays and there is a rush to be first off the tee at 9am.

All women are welcome to join in with a special green fee for non-mem-bers of $15. There is always passionate talk afterwards about scoring and pro-tocol learnt. „ The Mangawhai course is a fabulous place to be on these balmy autumn days. Newcomers are always welcome.
