NRC CandidateTo the residents of Mangawhai: My name is Rick Stolwerk. I have lived at Langs Beach since 1993 and I have decided to stand for the Northland Regional Council – Coastal South constituency – at the upcoming October election. My wife Angela and I have two girls, Ella 19, and Emily 12. Currently I am president of the Waipu Cove Surf Life Saving Club. For the past two years I have been a member of the Surf Life Saving New Zealand Board. My previous governance experience includes four terms on the Waipu Primary School Board of Trustees, a past chairman of the Bream Bay BOT and a term on the Northland Conservation Board. From 1999 until 2004 I was chairperson of the Waipu Museum. From 1995 until 2005 I tutored environmental and conservation papers at NorthTec and I have retained my trained teacher certificate. Presently I am self-employed, having business and farming interests. In 2001 I completed a Master of Science in Environmental and Marine Science at Auckland University, my thesis being titled Coastal Zone Management in Bream Bay – Present Status and Future Options. My particular interests are around coastal management issues. I look forward to catching up with you at upcoming community meetings and events. n Please contact me should you have any questions: stolwerk@clear.net.nz or 021 823 770. |
