Training Environmental Warriors

A team of 30 Year 3-6 Mangawhai Beach School environmental warriors – organised by Ashlee Radovan and Rebecca Low – escaped the classroom and spent a day under the guidance of Lynne Prictor planting over 1000 spinifex grasses on the dunes near the surf beach.

It’s great to see the school involved in what is becoming a real ‘community’ event. It was something of deja vu for Miss Low who had previously been involved with planting harakeke (flax) with the Waikato Council during Conservation Week. PHOTO/Ashlee Radovan
