Vineyard opens gates to host fundraiserPopular Mangawhai winemakers Ross and Jennimay Millar are opening up their vineyard gates on Saturday, January 27 (Auckland Anniversary Weekend) from 1pm - 5 pm in support of Mangawhai Volunteer Fire Brigade towards their new fire station build project. Millars Vineyard’s attractive band rotunda will be in full swing with live five piece band ‘Vintage Summer’ playing and rocking visitors with popular music from the 60s to the 80s throughout the afternoon. A selection of food, wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks will available plus the opportunity to pre-order a fresh finger food gourmet picnic box created especially for the event by noted local foodie Chantelle, so you can just sit back and enjoy the day Along with the wine, food and music there will be a live auction during the afternoon of a varied collection of mixed media art and other art creations including wood carvings by award winning sculptor Aaron Ellis-Smith, a unique painted chair specially created by Kaipara award-winning young go-ahead local artist Logan SB, a magnificent pottery tower donated by Morris & James Pottery, Matakana, plus many other unique artworks provided for the occasion. Also a silent auction of around 30 products and services all kindly donated by businesses and individuals will be held during this special event afternoon, all adding to the fun. A full list of sponsors will be displayed at the event. The Mangawhai Volunteer Fire Brigade would like to express their sincere gratitude to the community for their support as they work towards funding a new fire station.
