CauseWay carols takes a breakCauseWay Church is taking a break this year from its annual Christmas Carol services.
The extremely popular event has been a part of Christmas at Mangawhai since 1999, when it was originally held in the small church building in Moir Street. Now hosting around 1300 people each year, attending the event has become a Christmas tradition to many in the community. With around 100 volunteers to make it happen, and many hours of rehearsals and set up, CauseWay has enjoyed being able to bring a lot of enjoyment to the community at a special time of year. Pastor Colin Chitty said the decision to not hold the event this year was not taken lightly. “We felt it was timely to give all our volunteers, who have given such a lot to make this event happen over the years, a well-earned break this Christmas. There were one or two other contributing factors as well, and we feel this is the right decision for this year.” |
