Mangawhai Domain Summer GalaHop along to the annual Manggawhai Domain Summer Gala on 2 January to enjoy live music, fun rides, market stalls, food and drinks, quick fire raffles, dog shows, and lots more!
New to the gala this year is the children’s entertainment, featuring several new rides. For the younger children $5 buys an “All Day Pass” to ride the inflatables to their heart's content. Rides include the Pirate Bouncer, Fortress Slide, Bouncer Maze and Cannonball Blasters. Adventurous older children can enjoy the 4 in 1 Bungy and Land Zorbs for $8 per ride. More than 200 stalls will offer a large variety of crafts and artworks for indoors and out, clothing, a range of local produce and much more. A range of food and drink will be sold, and seating is available upstairs in the main building along with hot and cold drinks. The dog club will perform a number of shows throughout the day, and children can participate in the last show. This is an opportunity to see how agility works by watching the dogs negotiate the equipment. A helicopter will be offering rides, and the Mangawhai Volunteer Fire Brigade and Mangawhai St John Ambulance are attending and offering valuable information that could help save a life one day. All funds raised will go to support the Domain, owned by the Mangawhai community and home to many sports groups and social groups. The gala is the Domain's only fundraiser and all proceeds are used to pay for operating expenses, improvements, and to keep hireage fees reasonable for everyone in the community. This year an improved Traffic Management Plan is in place, supervised by Broadspectrum. Traffic exiting the Domain will turn left and follow detour signs to the Heads. Parking is provided and a team of volunteers will manage this. As this event is popular, event organisers request gala-goers follow instructions carefully as it can get very busy. See you at the Mangawhai Domain Summer Gala on 2 January, 9am-2pm. Entry fees cost $4 per adult, $2 per child. Children under five are free. For further information visit mangawhaidomain.org.nz. |
