A new name on the local scene is Our Local Organics, a haven for real organic food and produce, which opened its doors for the first time last Saturday in the former Pipi Gallery building at the village end of Molesworth Drive.

Diana Hardwick-Smith and Steve Insley of Waimarino Products have brought their own brand of certified organics to Mangawhai where they are looking not only to source organic produce locally but also encourage locals to grow to suit the market, thus setting up a co-operative chain of fresh healthy foods Their edict is simple: “Raw and organic wholefoods, healthy and allergyfree,” says Diana. But that is only part of the story. 

They will also provide hot and cold meals and takeaways, salads, combo’s and mixed meals, GE free sugars, flours, Coyo coconut-based ice cream and yoghurt. Apart from food you can also source Certified Organic body care products and septic tank friendly household cleaners.

Diana is a Naturopath, Medical herbalist and a Registered Nurse and is able to provide functional medical blood tests for food allergies and thyroid. She also works in an Auckland clinic treating cancer sufferers.
