MAZ basketball popular

On Sunday September 11 Mangawhai Activity Zone (MAZ) hosted a Kaipara District 3x3 basketball competition on their new 3x3 court. Despite the weather it was a fantastic day said organisers, with over 20 teams taking part.

Rain interrupted the seniors afternoon games and these are being rescheduled. One of the country’s fastest-growing participation sports, basketball’s popularity is also increasing thanks to the short-court 3x3 format now being included at the Olympics. As with skateboarding, future Olympians will be an integral part of MAZ with its new developments.
