Better Planet award for Kauri Museum

 

Enviro-Mark Solutions offer simple and effective solutions for environmental credibility adding value to businesses of all sizes by enabling them to accurately measure, manage, and minimise environmental impacts. 

The Enviro-Mark Solutions Awards are a biennial celebration of success stories in measurable action from the family of businesses certified under the carboNZeroCert, CEMARS and Enviro-Mark programmes and were recently held in Auckland but had a hint of local flavour. 

Matakohe’s Kauri Museum received a certificate in the Climate Action, small organisation category and while not a major winner was recognised among the finalists.

“This recognises our zero carbon status and efforts to reduce our environmental footprint, and further initiatives will actually move us into carbon positive status,” said Kauri Museum chairman Mark Vincent, who was on hand to collected the certificate. 

The museum has been zero carbon certified for some time and is progressing along the renewable energy path with upcoming installation of solar panels and the initiation of a tree planting programme on local public land.
