D Day breakfast raises over $16k

 

A D-Day (Dementia Day) breakfast fundraiser was held at Maungaturoto St John on November 29 from 6.30am to 9am, raising funds for a planned dementia wing at Riverview Rest Home.

Over $16,000 was raised on the day – $6000 from the sale of breakfasts and the balance from donations, with pledges of over $1000 still to come. Over 600 meals were provided during the morning, planned by the Maungaturoto Community Trust and made and delivered by a large contingent of the local community and sponsors.
