Daring project coming to lifeMangawhai Daring Trust secretary/treasurer Sandra Hollis and trustee John Street inspect a Freemasons silk neckerchief at their latest meeting. Found in the bilges of the uncovered schooner Daring, the neckerchief has undergone restoration and was on display for those present to view. A replica is to be created on silk for the general public to appreciate. Mangawhai Museum has offered space in their exhibition room to create a Daring display to be open to the public from December 2021 to February 2022. An educational and interactive Daring Display Centre is planned for the future. The Trust is welcoming feedback and ideas about how displays can be developed for the centre. PHOTO/SUPPLIED |
