D-Day approaching at MaungaturotoA D-Day (Dementia Day) Breakfast will be held at Maungaturoto St John on Thursday November 29 from 6.30am to 9.00am, bringing attention to the appeal for funding of the new dementia wing and rest home extensions at Riverview Rest Home. This will be a hearty breakfast which you can eat at the station for $14 or take away for $10. A great way to start the day; get your family, friends and work mates to come along. Local factories and businesses have already committed to supplying their staff with a breakfast. More FM will be there from 7am, the primary school Kapa Haka group will perform at 8.45am, Carters monster raffle tickets will be on sale and other attractions could be the appearance by some top local sports people. Members of the Community Trust and Fund raising will be easily identifiable by their purple Alzheimer’s shirts, they will gladly answer any question you have regarding the building project and there will be an area for the pubic to view the building progress. A large buy-in by the local Brethren community with the use of their Rapid Relief Team, who are providing the cooking trailer, donated food and personnel to do the cooking. The Rapid Relief Team will also be attending the Maungaturoto Christmas market on Friday December 7 with all proceeds to the Dementia Unit and rest home development. An artists impression of the proposed dementia wing at Rivirview Rest Home, fast becoming a big community focus. |
