Big turnout for firewood fundraiser

Nearly 50 members of the Mangawhai Heads Surf Lifesaving club volunteered in a ‘work for donation’ fundraising activity at Tara Iti on Sunday October 11. Lifeguards and junior surf members and their parents met out at Tara Iti to work relocating and stacking firewood for the club. Due to such an amazing turnout of club volunteers the group was able to complete the massive job in a very speedy and impressive three hours.

For their hard work, the group was rewarded with a tasty lunch and a cheque for $2000 to put towards MHVLS Junior Surf equipment needs. Thank you to all volunteers, and thank you to Tara iti for this fantastic opportunity.
