Ed Said - Fun on the Run

It’s interesting what people wear to different outings these days. If we take black tie events out of the equation, for the guys it probably won’t be a suit or tie regardless of the occasion. In fact these days jeans are suitable attire for anything.

Letter to the Editor

MAZ committee bullied In response to Alan Preston’s letter (Mangawhai Focus, Sept 17) the removal of a thread from the Mangawhai Local’s Facebook page is not an issue of free speech. To be clear, I am writing this letter as a private citizen. This is not a statement from the Mangawhai Activity Zone (MAZ) committee.

Worzel's world - Transhumanism and digital dependency

In my youth I went through a stage of reading science fiction. It was imaginative stuff and a little scary. Scarier still is that much of what I read has moved from science fiction to science fact and is scary still. I recently observed several of todays youth gathered together. They sat gazing entranced at the screens of electronic devices. They were exercising what is termed digital dependency.
