Cocker tribute one of the biggest acts to hit the Tavern

Whether performing with his own blues band Fat Mouse or as Joe Cocker Tribute, Col Jones always delivers a polished performance. 

Originally from London, he was around in the heyday of the pub rock scene that gave birth to such influential artists as Dr Feelgood, Dire Straits, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, and Micky Jupp’s Legend. Col has either appeared on the same bill or played with some of these artists around various venues in the UK, starting his musical career as a drummer then turning to front man and singer for various bands of his own. 

His knowledge of musical styles and trends is peerless and he can be relied on to perform songs from most of the decades. His love is blues, early swing and jazz but he’s also capable of performing more contemporary artists on request.

The Tavern show features experienced musicians from the New Zealand music scene, including Lance McNicol (lead guitar), Simon Sheward (bass guitar and vocals), Herbie McDerbie (keyboard, vocals, harmonica), and Jason Orme (drums). Together they perform a very professional act and guarantee a very enjoyable show including popular Joe Cocker songs such as Unchain My Heart, With A Little Help From My Friends, and She Came In Through The Bathroom Window.
