Rural restaurant to open
NEW: Not your typical cowshed, there’s more than meets the eye. Robert and Wendy Klink (ex Mangawhai Meat Shop) have started a new venture. In something a little different from the norm they have converted their cowshed into a restaurant and farm shop which will sell produce from their property and those of the surrounding area. The semi-rural Cow Shed Restaurant will be full of rustic charm with a menu to match. Bookings are essential for this special dining experience. On booking your table you will be asked to select your meat choice or vegetarian option. The reason for this is the unique preparation process the meat will go through taking 24 hours. Meals will be a set menu giving three choices and will include entree, main and desert. Tea, coffee and lemonade will be included in the set price. Be assured you will not leave hungry. Food has been a major part of their lives for some years – Robert dealing with the nuts and bolts of meat cuts while Wendy has run classes on preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes, both traditional and Asian. Opening day Thursday January 10. Restaurant open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and the Farm Shop Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Ask about BYO when booking, phone 431 2354. |
