Early Christmas Carols in MangawhaiAn evening of Christmas carols, drama and Christmas cheer will be held in the Senior Citizens hall in Fagan Place on Sunday December 9 at 7.00 p.m. For the third successive year the Anglican, Baptist and Roman Catholic Churches of Mangawhai have got together and planned a combined service to celebrate the Christmas message. This year, it was decided to set the date a little earlier in December, to herald in the Christmas season. Linda Wintle and Margaret Whittaker have been busy rehearsing with their children’s drama group and the musical team are practising too. There will also be a very special guest performance this year with some items from the Christine Bygrave Choir. Their contribution to the evening’s entertainment is creating considerable excitement and is warmly anticipated. Everyone in the community is warmly invited to attend. Be prepared to sing many of your favourite Christmas carols and one or two new ones. Any children attending the Carol service who have been unable to join the drama group are invited to dress up as shepherds, angels or villagers and could come forward to see the baby Jesus when “Away In a Manger ”is sung. At the close of the service, supper will be served and there will be a chance to mix and mingle. |
