Mangawhai a favourite playground

Mangawhai’s warming waters often see an annual pilgrimage by some rare visitors.

Tern Point local Bryan Clark was quick with the camera to capture the new arrivals.

Bryan says a pod of at least five dolphins was seen feeding and frolicking in the Mangawhai Estuary between Tern Point and Lincoln Street a few weeks ago. 

More recently a squadron of nine pelicans was seen basking in the sun in the same area.
