Promotion to encourage immunisation on time
EXTRA PROTECTION: Coast To Coast Health Care health promotion coordinator, Julie Hawkes, presents a car seat to Rochelle Davies and baby Cameron. Coast to Coast Health Care (CTCHC) – with clinics at Snells Beach, Matakana, Wellsford, Mangawhai, Maungaturoto, and Paparoa – is offering registered patients a convertible Edinburgh Roadstar car seat prize draw for 2012-born babies immunised by the age of 8 months. “The emphasis is on immunising babies ‘on time’,” says Coast to Coast Healthcare’s Dr Tim Malloy. “That means being up-to-date by eight months for the six week, three month and five month vaccines. This encourages protection, especially for those diseases that affect young children such as whooping cough.” Currently about 90% of babies are immunised against a national goal of 95%. CTCHC wants to encourage even more than is currently the case to immunise their children. “Early vaccination on time is important to provide your child with the best protection you can against these diseases,” say Dr Malloy. “When you are a busy parent it is easy to forget the immunisation regime especially if you have a number of young children who are affected.” The promotion was kick-started with 5 draws across the clinics, and will continue with regular prize draws for eligible entries from now and into 2013. Entry forms are available at Coast to Coast Health Care clinics.
