Cherry puts icing on the cake, runs fundraiser
BUILDING UP: Megan (left) and Ruth with a selection of their hand made products, now selling nationwide.
With the arrival of their first business birthday, Ruth and Megan are still blown away and very proud of how far their business Cherry on Top has come. From selling at the village market to having their tutus and clips in 16 retail shops around New Zealand is a shining example of how a small idea can turn into a great little business with hard work and good marketing. Mangawhai Pharmacy, Dragonfly Cafe Matakana and Bellanova child boutique in Mt Maunganui are their three biggest and busiest outlets with the number still growing in the lead-up to Christmas. “We have been very busy over these last few months, not only designing our 2012 Christmas season products and preparing Christmas orders, organizing our anniversary celebration, and gearing up for our childcare fund raiser but Ruth has also given birth to a beautiful baby boy Kaleb and moved into their new home. We are always on the go!” says Megan, obviously a little frazzled but also obviously pleased with the fruits of their labours. The girls are very excited about the release of a new tutu collection – Punk 'n' Spice, for little girls with attitude. Photos of this collection can be viewed on their Facebook page which features all recent releases and often promotions and giveaways too. Through November Cherry on Top is running a fundraiser for local childcare centres Before Six and Mangawhai Kindergarten. Those who purchase tutus and clips through the centre’s for this month will attract an awesome percentage of the sales for that centre – a great community initiative. Mangawhai Plunket will also be raffling off Cherry on Top products at their upcoming Garden Ramble. They are also interested in supporting other charities or organizations. Their products are great Christmas extras – great for sending overseas as they are light and small. Orders have already been sent to France, Australia, America, and England.
