Economic Recovery Team appointed

Kaipara Citizens and Ratepayers Association chairman Ron Manderson has announced the appointment of new executive committee members and an Economic Recovery Team, which will assist ratepayers and residents and the commissioners in recovering growth and growing employment in Kaipara. 

The Economic Recovery Team will liaise with business associations and business sector groups including construction, development and tourism. 

The emphasis will initially be on expansion of the rating base, streamlining regulatory processes, and attracting new business. 

Economic Recovery Team members are Ron Manderson as chair of the association, former councilor Jonathan Larsen, developer and contractor Craig Jepson, and Mangawhai developer Mark Rowbotham. 

“KCRA is committed to uncovering what went wrong in the past and seeing it put right,” says Mr Manderson. “We are also committed to seeing that rates are set at a fair and affordable level. There is now a great need to get on with rebuilding Kaipara, to allow the expansion of the rating base to spread the debt burden.”
