KSA Sports Briefs
Athletics
The Kaiwaka Athletics Club will hold their registration night on Monday November 5 at 5pm at Otamatea High School. The club caters for pre-schoolers upwards and runs on Monday evenings from 5pm to approximately 6.30pm. If you have a child who may be interested in joining athletics, please phone Eileen Parsons on 431 8055.
Otamatea rugby
A big welcome to our new Premiers coach Paul Mant! The Otamatea Rugby Club are planning events in 2013 to celebrate their 25th anniversary. A reunion will be held at the Sports Complex on the weekend of April 20. Invitations for players, coaches, managers and committee members will be sent out shortly.
Tennis
The numbers of junior tennis players has been dwindling over the last few years and so we need to gauge interest before we can go ahead with the season. With six astroturf courts with floodlighting we have the best tennis facilities around for miles, so it would be a shame for the club to have to fold!
The club will offer coaching and interclub (Rodney area) for all school age students up to Year 13. The season usually runs Saturday mornings during Term 4 with a break over the holidays, beginning again Term 1 next year. If you have a child who may be interested in playing tennis, please phone Lindell Ferguson on 431 2542 (evenings). Adults interested in playing can contact Innes Anderson 431 2250.
AGM
The Kaiwaka Sports Association's Annual General Meeting will be held at the Complex on Wednesday November 21 at 7.30pm. All welcome.
Christmas
If you are looking for somewhere to hold your work or family Christmas function, we have very reasonable hirage rates at the Sports Complex. We offer a quality venue complete with kitchen, bar, deck, a spacious lounge with dance floor and plenty of parking and we can even take care of your catering. To make a booking give me a call on 431 2051.
Cheryl Anderson, Kaiwaka Sports Assoc. manager, 431 2051
