Theres a storm coming to the Tavern
This is not the first Mangawhai appearance for Oceania Storm but if you missed them before, don’t let it happen again! The massive 12-piece reggae band will not only fill the stage but will fill the house with their own brand of reggae sounds which highlight slick, catchy guitar and sax riffs, and a powerful combination of brass and live strings. Led by three unique lead vocalists (two female and one male) and joined recently by professional musicians Richard Tali from Ardijah (saxophone, flute, and guitar) and Lisiate Langi (drums) from Three Houses Down, this tight rhythm section brings forth their deep religious roots in a breath of fresh reggae sounds. Oceania Storm music is a reggae band with a combination of funk, RnB, soul, Pacific Island and Aotearoa flava with members from very diverse cultures – Tongan, Niuean, Rarotongan, Maori, English, and NZ European. If you are looking for something different, something new, something sweet, you’ve got to check these guys out this Saturday October 20, 9pm, $5 door charge, R18. |
