Peter Grant: Life through the lensWaipu-based photographer Peter Grant is fairly new to Northland having recently arrived by yacht after crossing the Pacific with his family. “Launching into a sailing adventure was the only way I could tear myself away from my busy London-based photography business,” says Peter. Originally from Wellington, Peter built up his photography business in London by doing a variety of work: editorial (travel, ski, corporate), architectural, promotional, and a lot of weddings. “Photographing weddings is always exciting to me, capturing the atmosphere and joy of these ritualistic celebrations,” says Peter. “Each has a unique personal flavour; I feel very privileged to have documented so many special occasions.” He offers a bespoke service catering to exactly what the bride and groom want – formal, glamour, candid and creative. All images are presented on disc for the family to print copyright free. Since being back in New Zealand Peter has expanded his skills to video. “Becoming a film maker has been a natural progression for me.” Peter has completed film courses, bought video equipment, learnt how to edit and made a number short films, documentaries and wedding videos. He hopes to make documentaries for television and start up a YouTube channel with his talented son within the next year. www.pixandflix.co.nz |
