Sponsorship wall to boost cadet fundsOne of the top units in the country, Mangawhai Cadet Unit and has reached and maintained a high level of discipline and efficiency over the past three years. “We strive for excellence in our youth as I am sure your readers are aware,” says Unit Commander Sandra Grayson. “We now have our own permanent base located next to the Hakaru RSA which we feel will give us an opportunity to provide an even better service to our youth. While the troops are happy to handle much of the manual work themselves, providing this opportunity for the young people of Kaipara and Rodney Districts does come at a financial cost.” To keep the unit running requires constant fundraising plus a regular boost to pay for on-going costs such as uniforms, equipment, camps and activities. This is your chance to help the youth of your community. The unit has organised a sponsorship wall within the new building which will be always on display listing names of families and/or businesses who pledge support to the group. The exposure to this wall will be the cadet families, the cub families and the general public on open days and Anzac Day each year. Mangawhai Cadet Unit have charitable status so your donations are tax deductible. This is a worthy cause and, for any families with growing children, boys or girls looking for activity and adventure in a co-operative team situation, cadets could be well worth considering. For sponsorship or to get involved contact Mangawhai Cadet Unit on 0274 680 251 or email mangawhaicadetunit@yahoo.co.nz |
