Tempist Fujit back for live showLocal four-piece rock band Tempist Fujit have re-emerged. Named from the Latin ‘Tempus Fugit’ meaning ‘Time Flies’, the band was founded in 2005 by Waipu couple Lisa Walters (vocals) and Douglas Gordon (guitar). With a line-up consisting of drums, bass, guitar and female vocals they made a big splash on the local scene, noted for their hard-hitting cover arrangements. After some time off the road and in the studio, Tempist Fujit return to the Whangarei live scene with their first single release from their upcoming debut album. Their return performance will be at Whangarei’s Old Stone Butter Factory. “We are all excited at the prospect of playing to our fans again and can’t wait for them to hear our new material,” says Walters. “We share a lot of styles and genres in our songwriting process, ranging from rock to poetry.” Their powerful vocals and solid guitar backing gives them their own unique sound and place within the kiwi music industry. April’s show will include tracks from their upcoming album plus a few old favourites, supported by local acts Moondog Blues and DJ Steve. Their debut EP features tracks 'No More Time' and 'Here I Am' with fellow musicians and longtime friends Dave Reynolds (bass) and the late Cathy Synerdahl on drums. Also featured is 'Ain't Your Business' produced by Sydney-sider Ben Garden, with bonus track 'No More Time' unplugged, recorded at DL Studio's.
