Worzels World - What do you see? Many Christians believe we are in the end times. Scientists tell us that unless certain pressing problems are addressed we cannot avoid global catastrophe. Various conspiracy theorists are convinced of an international cabal bent on the destruction of the majority of the world’s population. Maybe they are all right. What do you see? One thing is certain, living as we do in ‘interesting times’ we need wisdom to navigate the pitfalls that are everywhere and will swallow the blind and punish the unprepared without thought or remorse. We cannot solve problems with the same thinking we used to create them. Continuing to do the same old things can only ever result in continuing the same old problems. Take politics as an example. The belief that voting in a different party will improve anything is madness. It’s a bit like thinking that changing a mafia boss will stop their criminal activity. The problem begins with people’s desire to be politicians. The day we select a reluctant leader who must be cajoled and persuaded to serve the nation is the day we may see some improvement in the quality of national management. While political power is given as a prize to the most persuasive bullshit artist and manipulator of public opinion we will see no improvement. We are being tied into a web of rules and regulations that diminish us. After being born unto a world that is demonstrably a mad house, this crazy world then labels us, tells us what to believe and how to behave so that we too can then be a part of, and contribute to, the insanity. Those few individuals who reject the predominant madness in favour of freedom and truth are almost always either marginalised or murdered. Don’t believe me? Take a look around and you will see: 30,000 children dying of starvation every day while a third of the worlds food is thrown away; the earth being sucked dry of oil and used to create over a billion pounds of pollution per year; the bulk of the Western World living in an industrialised illusion separate from the reality of nature, Corporate and government crime being overlooked in favour of temporary individual profit; a Western military industrial complex shamelessly invading sovereign nations; a pervasive pharmaceutical industry creating man-made diseases and fostering drug dependency; privately owned banking cartels printing fake money to control and defraud the masses, vital resources squandered on military use; corporations owning and running over 50 percent of everything on earth and governments facilitating this corporate abuse; corporate advertising and government propaganda lying to the world every day; 80 percent of the world’s native forests and 58 percent of native species now gone. On any day, just reading or watching the news, fake or otherwise, you will see ample evidence of disharmony, confusion, deceit and death. It will draw a picture of a failing system based almost entirely on material consumption, not on love, not on knowledge, not on freedom. There are 100,000 toxic chemicals being mixed with organic compounds to create poisonous food merchandise and products. One percent of the wealthiest people on the planet are screwing the other 99 percent solely for personal gain. We have a flawed and failing global economic system that must soon be abandoned. In a world that calls evil good and good evil it has forgotten God and does not even make any pretence of honouring his creation. This is what I see, what do you see? I will now tell you what I know. When faced with a choice between life and death most prefer life. Most would choose freedom over slavery, good over evil and honesty over deceit. Most of us would rather work together for the benefit of all rather than take the lazy road that leads to our mutual destruction. Love dispels fear and releases us to do what we believe to be right regardless of the consequences. This is exactly what anyone who made changes either for themselves or for society at large has done. Every great atrocity that has befallen the human race is the result of non-thinkers following orders. We are all faced with the choice between doing what is right regardless of what we are told or doing what we are told regardless of what is right. The power to do what is right is available to everyone who wants it. Martin Luther King said ‘The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in a moment of leisure and convenience but where he stands in times of challenge and controversy’. We are right now at a time of challenge and controversy Where do you stand? Every great atrocity that has befallen the human race is the result of non-thinkers following orders. We are all faced with the choice between doing what is right regardless of what we are told… |
