Another Bows & Bells Inspiration for Christmas TourMangawhai Museum is again holding the Bows & Bells Christmas event this year. The Inspiration for Christmas tour will be held over the weekend of December 2-3 from 10am to 4pm each day. Tickets cost $20 and are available from Mangawhai Museum or online at mangawhai-museum.org.nz. Children under 12 are free with a paying adult. “Last year the inaugural event was a greater success than anyone expected so despite the hard work, the pressure was on to go bigger and brighter this year,” says museum manager Emma Gray. Stylish Homes are once again sponsoring the event with all proceeds going to the museum. This year seven locations have been chosen, all located centrally in Mangawhai Heads. An extended team of volunteers have been working for the last six months to ensure the WOW factor. If you are looking for ideas you will certainly get them. As last year the museum foyer will be fully decked out and Santa will be in attendance between 10am and 2pm each day with a lucky dip for the children. In the spirit of the event the museum gift shop has Christmas items, which have been hand made in Mangawhai. These include Christmas table settings, bunting, hand towels, decorated vine and ribbon wreaths, all reasonably priced. They are already selling fast so be in quick. n In conjunction with Bows & Bells, Tara Lodge is holding Carols by Candlelight on Saturday December 2 at 7.30pm, 631 Tara Road, Mangawhai. Families are welcome to come and enjoy Christmas carols. Entry is by gold coin donation but please leave your pets and alcohol at home. This year will see seven rooms on the tour, providing more than enough inspiration for ardent Christmas decorators. |
