Hard work rewarded

Academic, sporting, and special awards for 2017 were presented at Otamatea High School's recent senior prizegiving in front of an audience that packed out their hall.

Honoured guest, Sir Lockwood Smith, gave a compelling speech about his road to success, inspiring students to work hard and 'give it a go.'

Top academic places were awarded to, pictured from left, Max Daniels (Dux) and Joshua Nishitani-Hart (Proxime Accessit).

Top sports honours went to Simon Parker (Victor Ledorum) and Annmarie Holst (Victrix Ledorum)

Other highlights included a $6000 University of Otago Alumni Entrance Scholarship presented to Miriana Littlejohn.

Head Boy and Head Girl for 2018 will be Claude Smyth and Annmarie Holst.
