Little ones learn about givingKids from Mangawhai’s Before Six pre-school centre have had a busy time wrapping a number of donated, outgrown and pre-loved toys and learning about the giving part of Christmas by sending them off children less fortunate.
With children growing into more ‘grown-up’ toys, some of the Mums decided any good quality and good condition toys and games their children had outgrown or no longer needed could be wrapped and given to Womens Refuge where they would be much appreciated and no doubt bring some Christmas spirit to those who might otherwise feel a little left out during the festivities. Principal Joanna Mahood says it had been a good exercise for keeping the youngsters amused who loved doing things with the bright wrapping paper and wrestling with the sticky tape – but Mums have been kept on their toes making sure no children went into the giveaway boxes! |
