Duo promise to be a memorable experienceCountry Homestead at Black Sheep Farm has announced their next House Concert. Violinist Marko Pop Ristov and pianist Flavio Villani plan to take New Zealand audiences on an exciting 'Music Tour through Europe' in 2021. Travel limitations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic have made it impossible for the two professional musicians to perform in Europe, so the duo have decided to bring Europe to NZ venues. “Since we are all unable to travel, we have created this concert series so we can all travel through music,” says Flavio. “We will treat our audiences to a variety of masterpieces from different European countries, including music by Greig, Dvorak, Bartok and Prokofiev.” The duo started playing together in 2016 as members of the Villani Piano Quartet. In 2019 they founded the European-based chamber group Orion Piano Trio, touring to several countries in Europe before the pandemic. The strength of this extensive journey of music-making together ensures the duo can bring excellent and memorable experiences to local music halls across New Zealand. This promises to be a unique opportunity to experience a highly professional musical duo performing in a small, personal concert. With one Waipu concert only, tickets are very limited so early booking is essential. n WHAT: Ristov Villani Duo. WHERE: Country Homestead at Black Sheep Farm, 1034 Cove Rd, Waipu Cove.
