New format for Art n TartanThe organising committee for Waipu Museum’s Art ’n Tartan Awards is delighted to announce that Art ’n Tartan is scheduled to be held in 2021 with a new format and new dates. Providing Northland remains in Level 1, and inside gatherings of more than 100 people are permitted, Art ’n Tartan will be held in the School Holidays on October 15-16 in the Celtic Barn, Waipu. “We know that our many artists and designers have continued to design throughout 2020 and would love us to hold the awards again in 2021,” says event producer Claire Drake. “We have therefore decided to proceed with the backing of the Waipu Museum Board and full details of the competition will be announced shortly.” A new simplified format will provide for all types of entries, including a competition for masks for local primary school children. Prizes will be awarded across a range of categories and will encourage everyone from new entrants to the most experienced artists to participate. Entries are expected to open in February and close mid-July. Pre-judging will be held in late August. To register your interest email artntartan@gmail.com, message Art ’n Tartan via Facebook, or send a note to Art ’n Tartan, c/- Waipu Museum, 36 The Centre, Waipu 0510. |
