News in BriefMAI members Easter exhibition “This is a rare opportunity to see a large number of artists exhibiting together at the gallery as our fortnightly exhibitions tend to focus on single or small groupings of artists,” says Chris den Hartogh, MAI gallery manager. “The exhibition will also include works by some who were part of the successful Mangawhai Art Trail, so those who enjoyed the Trail, or missed it, will have another chance to view the work of their favourite artists or to discover new ones!” Under the careful curation of Elena Nikolaeva each piece will be displayed to show it at its best. Exhibits include paintings in oils and acrylics, prints and photographs as well as mixed media and textiles. The two-week exhibition is open daily from 10am to 3pm from Friday March 26 to Tuesday April 6 at Mangawhai Artists Gallery, 45 Moir St, Mangawhai. Night works at Puhoi Rd Work on the south side of Puhoi Road started on March 14 and will last for two months, continuing until mid-May 2021. Work will take place at night from Sunday to Thursday between 7pm and 4am.
