HEALTH CHECK: Recent heavy rain set the stage for an ideal opportunity to do a good cross-section weather event water sampling for our harbour project. Peter Wethey and Daryl Reardon (pictured) sampled two sites, the Devich Road stream and the Forest Stream at Maranui. This picture is taken at low tide where there is normally only a trickle of water, but heavy rains have caused some minor ‘flash’ water levels. Results from the deluge and run-off should make for interesting reading as to what is finding its way into our harbour.
