Subdivision and development means there are now few dairy farms of any magnitude in our area but numbers of small block farmers are growing and with them the spirit that drives people into new ventures like milking sheep, goats or just a couple of cows to satisfy their diets for fresh milk and enter the boutique cheese-making business; not necessarily as a business but for personal satisfaction.

For many small operations, investing in a large milking system is neither practical nor affordable, yet milking by hand is still the same chore it was back in colonial times.
