Group thanks their heroA group of residents at The Sanctuary have expressed their gratitude to Carolyn Scott at Mangawhai Books & Gifts, presenting her with a gift basket of goodies to say thanks and recognise her hard work over the last few months.
Carolyn worked tirelessly during the most challenging time of lockdown, says group spokesperson Stephyn St James. “While families gathered comfortably in their bubbles, she was there at the store, Mangawhai Books & Gifts, our local post centre, working for us all, sorting our mail and parcels. Carolyn’s commitment and dedication to our community have not gone unnoticed.” Carolyn spent many hours sorting parcels, ensuring locals with and without rural delivery were receiving their mail. This service was a lifeline to some with no way of getting out of Mangawhai during the strict lockdown. Her messages to advise mail and parcel arrivals have also been a delight for many, says St James. The gift basket included products from Brooke Lane Wines, The Cakery at Tea & Tarte, Bennetts, The Sanctuary’s own olive oil, and a cash restaurant dinner gift.
