New courses coming for aspiring writers22 Nov, 2021 Budding writers honing their craft in a 'Creative Writing for Beginners' course, were accompanied by a symphony of roadworks through their October classes, the last program to be held this year for the Mangawhai Writers Workshop (MWW). Held at the Mangawhai Art Workspace on Moir Street, writers are tutored by local published author and director of Silvereye Press, Judy Tindill, who says this first year of MWW workshops has introduced 17 new talents to the local creative environment. “Students came from diverse backgrounds, yet at the end of this intensive course, all new writers came equal in producing work that they didn’t imagine possible.” To grow the group further, 2022 will see a range of new courses including historical fiction and memoir.
