Quartet booked for country concertCountry Homestead at Black Sheep Farm, Langs Beach, is delighted to announce their next house concert, the Villani Piano Quartet. Flavio Villani is returning with his quartet who performed at the same venue last May. Playing together since 2015, the group is the result of previous collaborations between the four players in various combinations. After years of studying and performing in Europe, including gaining their Masters in Chamber Music, Sarah Spence and Marko Pop Ristov moved to Auckland where they met playing as principals with the newly formed Wairua Sinfonietta. They have joined forces with established Auckland musicians Flavio Villani and Helen Bevin to create the quartet, combining piano and three other string instruments – violin, viola and cello. With international experience, each musician has come together with a drive to present the unique richness of the piano quartet experience and to promote chamber music to audiences of all ages. The quartet’s inaugural year saw them perform to critical acclaim in the main centres of the North Island from Kerikeri to Wellington in collaboration with Chamber Music New Zealand, as well as build audiences at home in Auckland. The quartet, with their wide international experience, shows impressive clarity and expression in their playing with a superb balance between the four musicians. They are sure to delight you in the intimate grand lounge of the Country Homestead. This promises to be a unique opportunity to experience a high calibre quartet in an intimate location.
