Club reaches 50 year quota

 

Fish tales are about to get bigger and longer as the Mangawhai Boating and Fishing Club prepare to celebrate their 50th anniversary on July 2 at the Mangawhai Tavern. It’s understood the first meeting was also held there so it is a fitting venue and organisers are looking for past members or people who have been involved or know of people that have been involved with the club to attend and make the occasion a memorable one.

Celebrations will start at 2pm with guest speaker Grant Dixon, editor of NZ Fishing News. A dinner will be served, tickets $40.

Secretary Isabel Hollis says the club would also like to hear from anyone with any historical items, anecdotes or news clippings relating to the club.
