Farewell: Ash and Terry cut a track23 May, 2022 Members of Mangawhai Tracks Charitable Trust, affectionately known as the ‘Trackies’, gathered together on May 11 to farewell two long-serving members, Ash Gibbs and Terry Ballard. Surprise mystery guest, Karen De Haan, owner-operator of the Cruz-n-Co coffee caravan, was also invited to attend as she has been an integral part of the team, serving coffees and delicious nibbles every Friday morning after the Trackies have finished their work. Karen has now been made an ‘Honorary Trackie’ in recognition of the part she plays in their post-recovery phase. The Trust wishes Ash and Bev Gibbs, and Terry and Meredy Ballard, every happiness in their new homes in Whangarei and Drury and thanks them for their loyal and hard-working community service for the best part of a combined 20 years. These two Trackies will certainly be missed. Pictured with the Trackies group is Karen De Haan (holding certificate), Ash Gibbs (left of Karen), and Terry Ballard (centre front). – PHOTO/SUPPLIED |
