Big year for local builderAdding some distinctive design features has paid dividends for Mangawhai housing company Cavern Homes.
Though principals Ken and Karen Dugdale have a long association with the industry, it is just their second year of operation in Mangawhai. Especially pleasing is having built a team of tradesmen delivering a product that has won gold for innovation, creativity and workmanship at the Master Builders Awards in August and now seen them as a finalist in the Emerging Business class at the recent 2015 Westpac Northland Business Excellence Awards in Whangarei. “Our aim is, as far as possible, to keep things local,” says Ken Dugdale explaining that the company utilises 85 percent local product and tradespeople, “and retain a team that work well together, understand each other, understand what’s required by the customer and have pride in the job they do – and I believe our results show that we are achieving that goal.” With Ken experienced in the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the business and Karen a qualified interior designer they are able to discuss knowledgeably with customers the entirety of their project from start to the very finish. Both agree that gaining the confidence of customers is of ultimate importance and lays the foundation for a good working relationship throughout any project and which may also auger well for future custom. The team at Cavern Homes would also like to wish all their customers and friends the very best for the holidays and upcoming festive season. |
