New face joins YourVet teamThe team at Waipu’s YourVet are excited to welcome a new face in their growing team of experienced veterinarians. Nikita O'Donnell (nee Osborne) graduated from The University of Queensland in 2012, and since then has been based at Bay of Islands Veterinary Services working with a wide range of patients including beef and dairy cattle and other farm animals, cats, dogs and even more exotic patients including pinning a budgie’s wing and amputating a rat’s tail! Word is already spreading in the local horse world too as Nikita, an experienced horsewoman, has a wealth of knowledge in equine veterinary medicine. She is excited to be able to offer a wide range of veterinary treatment and preventative care for local performance and pleasure horses. With fifteen horses at home, Nikita continues to surround herself in the horse world even when not at work. She breeds Hanoverians and competes in dressage at Grand Prix level on her Hanoverian gelding Alfie. She also enjoys spending time with her family – husband Kieran, her two Golden Retrievers Murphy and Bodie, and cats Rio and Catnis. Nikita is looking forward to meeting a new group of clients (both two and four legged), will be well sought-after, and be a valuable member of the YourVet team in 2020 and beyond.
