Worzel's World - The honest lieI tried to write an article explaining the nature of truth and falsehood. I stopped writing and gave up after exceeding my word allocation four-fold. It may have to be the theme for a book that I will probably never write. I will sum up though that aspect of truth that most pertains to the situation in which we find ourselves today: There are many scrupulously honest people who constantly lie. They do not lie because they are dishonest, they lie because they believe something that is false. They repeat it and perhaps even worse, act upon it. Because they are honest and reliable themselves, they often suspend scepticism and criticism and assume erroneously that others are honest and reliable too. There is some evidence for this. Various saved data shows that I have been involved in over a hundred trades on the TradeMe platform. In all those trades I have only encountered two occasions where difficulties arose due to duplicity or misrepresentation. I maintain a 100 per cent rating myself. The obvious conclusion is that the overwhelming majority of Kiwis try to attend to their business in a fair, up front manner. They pay their dues, discharge their responsibilities and interact with others with as little fuss and as much honesty as possible. I have often said that God has written his law in the heart of every individual, but that the devil is at the heart of every institution. I am not sure if this is true or simply a product of my own desire to sound profound and wise. It does however, more often than not, seem to be the case. There are people who would not hurt a fly who bring untold misery into the lives of others because within a corporate or government agency they conscientiously do their jobs and obediently do what they are told. It is natural to think of the great evils of history, identified by 2020 hindsight, as being perpetrated by monsters hell bent on wreaking death and destruction. The reality is that all the great atrocities of the past were not committed by leaders but by the people themselves simply doing what they were told and going about their business oblivious to the lie that justified the evil being perpetrated. In our own time, many who have been complicit with undermining freedom and human rights have done so because they have been persuaded that this is the right thing to do. The vast majority have never studied or learned from history. But as is often quoted, ‘those that will not learn from history are doomed to repeat it’. The lessons are there to learn for anyone who is prepared to make the effort. Some of the greatest falsehoods are perpetrated not by generating false information, although there is plenty of that too. No, the biggest lies come from withholding vital information or being selective with what information is released and how that information is presented, contrary to the popular aphorism ‘What you don’t know can hurt you and will if given half a chance’. This is where the greatest deception is and where democracy is most at risk. How many are aware that our government spent $14 million of our money on advertising agencies to sell us the official government line on SARSCoV2 (Covid-19). That is why censorship in a free country is so dangerous. Any free country that has curtailed freedom of speech becomes, in very short order, no longer a free country. Many relinquished basic human rights – like the right to travel and the right to freely assemble – because this was touted as being for the ‘common good’. Yet there is absolutely no empirical evidence that this is true. If I ask directions to the library and the person who gives me directions is mistaken and directs me to the museum instead, I am led astray no matter how sincere the intentions of my advisor. The end result being that I will be unable to borrow the book that may have changed my life and saved my soul and instead only get to see preserved Egyptian Mummies and dinosaur bones. Yet my consultant goes blithely on his way enjoying the warm glow of satisfaction that comes from assisting a lost friend. There are mountains of evidence that many highly remunerated professionals have done something similar and lose no sleep over the damage their falsehoods have caused. There will also be good honest people who will support the idea of mandatory medical testing and vaccination. They forget that every drug has side effects, and many people, perhaps all, will be harmed. Another Coronavirus-related illness called the ‘common cold’ has defied all attempts to find a cure for thousands of years, as has cancer, the second leading cause of death worldwide. But some are prepared to believe that a brand new cure for a brand new virus, one that has yet to be isolated, can be magically discovered in months. Believe that and you’ll believe anything. It is my duty to inform readers that by consenting to the draconian measures imposed by globalist tyrants you are being complicit with evil. The truth is available and obvious for those who are prepared to diligently seek it. It must be faced sooner or later. Better sooner than later. Feedback? Email profworzel@gmail.com |
