Young pianist to play house recitalBlack Sheep Farm is delighted to announce 17-year-old pianist Mirabella Uphof as its next house concert. Learning since she was just 3-years-old, Mirabella says her goal is to complete her ATCL Performance Diploma by the time she completes her last year of school. Her exam is set for September with an examiner from the Trinity Music School of London. She has chosen her own repertoire which she will perform in the first half of the concert. This is a selection of various classical composers – Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Debussy – which will last around 35 minutes. The second half of the concert will include her own selection of favourite piano music and more contemporary style pieces. Mirabella has been involved in many musical events over her years and her talents stretch from winning the Northland region Chamber Music Contest to winning Rockquest regional finals. She has accompanied Opera North choir at many concerts, Northland students in singing competitions, as well as performing solo at many charity events and public concerts. This concert will have a limited number of seats and support Mirabella to cover her exam entry fee. n Mirabella Uphof piano recital: Black Sheep Farm, 1034 Cove Rd, Waipu Cove. Sunday August 21, 4pm.
