Work recognised with national PR awardNorthland Regional Council marketing and engagement manager Natasha Stubbing has won the hotly contested Public Relations Institute of New Zealand’s (PRINZ) Young Practitioner award. Judges were unanimous in awarding Natasha the prestigious Sally Logan-Milne Young Practitioner of the Year category, saying she was the top contender in a strong field of candidates, many of them from large New Zealand agencies and corporates. The award recognises a young practitioner (30 years and under) who has achieved success in his or her career and is held in high esteem in the industry. Northland Regional Council chairman Bill Shepherd says Natasha heartily deserves this award and is highly valued for the contribution she makes to the whole council. “I have had the pleasure of working closely with Natasha over the past five years in my position as chairman of the Northland Regional Council and it’s great to see our homegrown professionals being recognised on the national stage.” Natasha is always willing to take on extra challenges says Mr Shepherd, and does an amazing job showcasing the region and sharing the work that council does via a range of channels including video and social media. “Natasha has also grown the council’s presence through an extensive events portfolio providing opportunities for councillors and staff to get out into the communities around the region to talk with people face-to-face and listen to their views.” Natasha says she is “proud and honoured” to receive the award. “I really love what I do and I’m so grateful I can remain here, in the place I love and continue to build my career while competing with the best of them. The ability to work with people who are as passionate about Northland as I am is really fantastic. I’m looking forward to the future and hope to always improve my practice and do the best possible job for the council and the region.” The 2018 PRINZ awards, which attracted 87 entries with 29 finalists across 11 categories, were held at the Claudelands Arena in Hamilton on 30 May 2018. Natasha Stubbing says she is proud and honoured to receive the national PR award. |
