High spirits as fundraiser cuts big chequeAn incredible $100K was raised recently at Tara Iti’s fourth annual Spirit of Mangawhai Charity Golf Tournament, held on Thursday April 15. Tara Iti general manager Matt Guzik praised the participants (of whom many were familiar faces) and also the Tara Iti team for their passion, dedication and commitment to making the day such a success. “Today is like Christmas Day for our team as we get to give back to our community in more ways than one,” Guzik said. “Many of our employees are involved or connected to these local organisations that benefit greatly from the funds provided from this special day.” Tara Iti Golf Club employs close to 75 local people, along with around 50 caddies, all of whom were involved in some way with the organisation, set-up and delivery of the event. After an 18 hole Two Best Ball golf tournament, socialising and lots of smiles were seen throughout the award ceremony, pizza party and cheque presentation at Tara Iti’s clubhouse. “Again, we are very fortunate with the weather conditions which highlighted a truly superb and well-conditioned golf course,” added Guzik. “We are also thrilled to have received such positive feedback from the teams and sponsors, and many have placed themselves on the waitlist for next year’s tournament already!” A few of this year’s recipients include St John Ambulance, Mangawhai tennis, MAZ, Mangawhai Kindergarten, Mangawhai Artists Inc., MHVLS, Mangawhai Beach School, and Kaiwaka Sports Association.
