Services contract awardedKaipara District Council has awarded its Regulatory Services contract to Armourguard as part of a joint procurement process with Whangarei District Council.
The services Armourguard will carry out for Kaipara involve parking, dog control and noise enforcement. The company takes over the contract on September 12 from Environmental Northland Limited (ENL), which has held the contract with Kaipara District Council for 20 years. Kaipara District Council's General Manager Planning and Regulatory, Fran Mikulicic, says ENL's Keith Thompson and his team have provided long and tireless service in often difficult circumstances, and both Councils recognise this. "It is our policy to test the market from time to time when contracts come up for renewal, and this is one such case. We have been through a detailed, six-month process, from registration of interest, to request for proposal and evaluation. Jointly tendering this contract with Whangarei District Council has enabled us to achieve considerable cost savings for our ratepayers, while still being assured of a high quality of service. Kaipara District Council is now working through a transition process with ENL, Armourguard and Whangarei District Council, and says ratepayers will continue to receive a high standard of service throughout. |
